2025-26 Hari Hari Ground Control operation

Location/Region: The Hari Hari ground control area runs from Lake Ianthe to Mount Hercules taking in all farmland and bush pasture margins in the Wanganui and Poerua River Valley catchments. This includes the surrounding DOC estate inside the contract area from the river mouths of both catchments up to Rainbow flat in the Wanganui River catchment, and Rata Creek in the Poerua River catchment. Habitat includes dairy farmland, bush pasture edges, exotic forest, native forest remnants within the river flat areas, and old-growth podocarp forest in undeveloped areas. Approx. 16,164 hectares
