Rentokil Rural & Environmental Services was established in 2022 following the acquisition of EcoFX, a leading pest control company. This was then followed by a strategic expansion across Aotearoa New Zealand with the acquisitions of:
- Vector Free Marlborough (Blenheim) – Experts in aerial 1080 operations and ground pest control, operating across the upper South Island and West Coast.
- High Country Contracting (South Island) – Specialists in ground-based pest control, wilding tree management, drone services, ungulate, lagomorph and wallaby control across Canterbury, Otago, Southland, and West Coast.
- EcoFX (North Island) is a Waikato-based leader in pest control, with a legacy spanning over two decades.
- Feracon Limited (North Island) – Extensive experience in peri-urban, rural, and deep-bush pest control across Auckland, Northland, and historically the wider North Island.
These strategic acquisitions strengthened Rentokil Rural & Environmental Services’ capability, allowing us to deliver large-scale pest control operations across New Zealand. EcoFX is a Waikato-based leader in pest control, with a legacy spanning over two decades. Known for its commitment to excellence in operational delivery, stakeholder engagement, and ecological outcomes, EcoFX played a key role in advancing possum control and large-scale predator management in the North Island. Its strong reputation and experienced team laid the foundation for what would become Rentokil Rural & Environmental Services.
Vector Free Marlborough
Vector Free Marlborough has long been a trusted name in pest management across the upper South Island and West Coast. Originally formed to serve local communities with reliable, high-quality pest control, VFM quickly established itself as a leader in aerial 1080 operations and ground-based control methods.
The VFM team brings deep expertise in protecting New Zealand’s rural economy and native biodiversity from the threats posed by introduced pests and disease. Through a combination of aerial and ground-based methods, alongside robust surveillance and monitoring techniques, VFM has delivered successful outcomes in some of the country’s most challenging and remote terrain.
High Country Contracting
Based in the heart of the South Island, High Country Contracting built its name through high-performance field crews, versatile services, and deep-rooted knowledge of the unique challenges across Canterbury, Otago, Southland, and the West Coast. With strengths in ground-based pest control, wilding conifer management, and ungulate and wallaby control, HCC added significant strength to our southern operations and continues to shape our work in the most remote and rugged parts of Aotearoa. Always at the forefront of innovation, HCC constantly seeks new technologies and methods to improve efficiency, enhance environmental outcomes, and deliver even more effective pest management solutions across the region.
Feracon
Feracon specialise in controlling and maintaining animal and plant pests with cutting-edge technology. Experts in peri-urban, rural, and deep-bush pest control across Auckland, Northland, and historically the wider North Island.
